Coconut peat (2928)

Coconut peat is eco-friendly organic product of coconut peel processing. Main characteristics:
- slow (up to 5 years) degradation;
- high water holding capacity;
- even distribution of moisture in the pot;
- good air permeability;
- increases the porosity of the soil, which prevents it from caking;
- free of pathogens, insects and weeds;
- pH from 5.6 to 6.8.

Disadvantages include high salt levels, as coconut grows in salty soils and accumulates a lot of chlorine, potassium and sodium in the peel of the nuts. Therefore, obligatory rinsing with water before use is required, followed of fertilizer addition.
