Barberry (2958)

Japanese barberry (Berberis thunbergii) “Tiny Gold” — an ornamental deciduous plant that combines bright coloring and compact growth, which is ideal for growing a spectacular bonsai.
The foliage is bright yellow with a slight lettuce tint, turning deep orange or red in the fall. The crown is oval-shaped, dense.

Flowering: small yellow flowers in May.
Fruit: non-edible small bright red berries in fall.
Placement: outdoor.
Lighting: sun or semi-shade. The best location is where the plant receives at least 4–6 hours of direct sunlight per day for bright foliage and blooms. In shade, bright color is lost.
Soil: light, well-drained, slightly acidic or neutral.
Watering: moderate, without stagnant water.
Comfortable temperature: +18…+20 °C degrees in spring and summer.
Transplanting: from late spring to mid-summer, as warm weather promotes the growth of the plant.
